Al Gore to Denounce Bush on Environment, Global Warming

In a major address today in New York, former Vice President Al Gore will issue a powerful indictment of the Bush administration's assault on America's environmental and public health protections. Mr. Gore will also criticize the administration's refusal to address global warming, linking the issue to U.S. national security. Gore asserts that the President is choosing to help his coal- and oil-company supporters rather than advance modern technologies that can affordably solve this critical problem.

Mr. Gore's talk is being co-sponsored by MoveOn.org and the Environment2004 Education Fund. The speech is being webcast on Moveon.org, and the full transcript will be posted shortly on BushGreenwatch.org. A partial text of the talk is currently available from Moveon.org.
